Privacy Policy

Last updated:

Travel Through Ireland ('we', 'us', or 'our') is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what personal data we collect when you visit travelthroughireland.ie, how we use it, and your rights under applicable data protection law including the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Data we collect

When you browse our site we may collect technical data such as your IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited, and referring URL. This data is collected automatically via analytics tools and is used solely to understand how visitors use the site and to improve it.

If you subscribe to our newsletter or submit a contact form, we collect the name and email address you provide. We use this information only to send you the content you requested and to respond to your enquiry.

If you place an order in our shop, we collect the information necessary to fulfil that order — name, delivery address, email address, and payment details. Payment data is processed securely by our payment provider and is never stored on our servers.

Cookies

We use cookies to remember your preferences, analyse site traffic, and (where you have given consent) to serve relevant advertising. Essential cookies are required for the site to function and cannot be disabled. Analytics and marketing cookies are only set after you have given your consent via our cookie banner.

You can withdraw your consent or manage your cookie preferences at any time by clicking the 'Cookie settings' link in the footer, or by adjusting your browser settings to block or delete cookies.

How long we keep your data

We retain personal data only for as long as necessary for the purpose it was collected. Newsletter subscriber data is kept until you unsubscribe. Order records are retained for seven years to comply with Irish tax law. Analytics data is anonymised after 26 months.

Your rights

Under GDPR you have the right to: access the personal data we hold about you; request correction of inaccurate data; request erasure of your data ('right to be forgotten'); object to or restrict processing; and data portability. To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at the address below.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Commission (Ireland) at dataprotection.ie if you believe we have not handled your data lawfully.

Contact us

If you have any questions about this privacy policy or how we handle your data, please get in touch via our contact page or by emailing [email protected]. We aim to respond to all privacy enquiries within 30 days.
